Joint business agreement

Finally a Joint Business or Alliance agreement provides for extensive cooperation between the airlines and generally requires “immunisation” from competition laws. If authorised, a joint business agreement allows airlines to coordinate the timings of their flights, ensure they charge the same fares on a particular route, jointly sell flights to corporate customers, share loyalty benefits, lounge access and much more. Virgin Australia and Delta Air Lines have an alliance agreement authorised in Australia, currently Qantas and American Airlines are trying to get a similar deal though.
